What this is
“Neighbourhoods” is the City of Hamilton's own word for these areas, and the names and outlines are its own. Its layer is made of 233 planning units; where several units in one community share a name (6 names), they are shown here as one area. A name the layer gives only as a number is shown with its community and unit (Central Business District, Flamborough planning unit 1100 …).
What is “in” an area is worked out by HamiltonIQ from positions: a school, park, facility or planning application is counted where the point its own dataset records falls inside the outline. An area gets a page when at least 3 of them do; the rest are listed without a link.
Not a catchment map. School attendance areas are set by the school boards, and a school inside an outline does not mean it serves the addresses there.

A linked name has its own page. Counts are of what each dataset places inside the outline.

How this is built
The outlines are the City of Hamilton’s Neighbourhoods (Open Hamilton layer of planning units), read October 8, 2026. Areas are measured from the outlines. The schools, parks, facilities and planning applications counted in each come from this site’s own datasets, each cited on its page; nothing about who lives in an area, what homes cost or what it is like is said here, because no dataset behind these pages records it.
