  1. October 25, 2026 — Hamilton's Committee of Adjustment has 25 application files on its October 29 agenda: The City's posted agenda has changed since this story was first published on October 10. The version read on October 10 listed 24 files on 19 properties across 12 wards. The agenda as read on October 25 lists 25 files on 20 properties across 11 wards: 461 Kitty Murray Lane in Ancaster (Ward 12) is no longer listed, and 653 Barton Street East (previously tabled) and 135 Trenholme Crescent have been added. This story has been updated to match.
  2. October 11, 2026 — Council approves up to $12.03 million brownfield grant to clean up former psychiatric hospital lands for 512-bed long-term care home: An earlier version said the grant was worth up to $12 million, that it is repaid from new property taxes, and that payments come from 80 per cent of the site's new municipal taxes. Staff report PED26153 sets the maximum grant at $12,030,686, paid as 80 per cent of the increase in the municipal portion of the property taxes.
  3. October 11, 2026 — Planning Committee approves Waterdown subdivision of about 1,221 homes at 562 Dundas Street East, including a 12-storey building: An earlier version suggested the density increase applied across the Waterdown South Secondary Plan area. The draft Official Plan Amendment in Appendix B to staff report PED26139 raises the maximum density from a range of 60 to 100 to 250 units per net residential hectare only for the lands in the plan's Area Specific Policy Area "A", and the report describes the increase as applying to the subject lands.
  4. October 11, 2026 — Hamilton's Committee of Adjustment has 25 application files on its October 29 agenda: An earlier version said residents who want to be heard have to meet the noon deadline on each hearing notice. The City's Committee of Adjustment process page sets that deadline for written comments and for registering to speak by Webex; residents can also speak by attending the hearing in person.
