Comment deadlines

  • Monday, November 2: written comments on the proposed 242 rental dwellings in three five-storey buildings at 400 Rymal Road West (file DPA-2026-00421), sent to the Planning Division. A public meeting date has not been set.
  • Thursday, November 19, 4:30 pm: comments on the Binbrook Road, Trinity Church Road and White Church Road Intersection Improvements study, which recommends two roundabouts with road realignment. The Environmental Study Report is at hamilton.ca/BinbrookRdEA and in person at the Binbrook library branch, the Glanbrook Municipal Service Centre at 4280 Binbrook Road and the Clerk's office at City Hall. A request to the Minister of the Environment, Conservation and Parks for a higher level of study or conditions must reach the Minister by November 19, and can be made only on the grounds of potential adverse impacts on Aboriginal and treaty rights, the City's notice says.
  • About November 21: the 30-day windows run out for objecting to the City's intention to designate 280 and 265 Wilson Street East in Ancaster, and for appealing the by-laws designating 6 Main Street East and 1401 King Street East. Both are counted from the City's October 22 notices; confirm exact dates with the City Clerk.

Closures that continue

  • December 7: the posted end of the HSR detour around the Main and Ottawa closure for Routes 1/1A, 10 and 41, subject to construction progress.
  • December 18: scheduled end of the Ridge Road closure.
  • December 21: scheduled end of the Route 4 Bayfront detour at Nash Road and King Street.

Update, October 30: The City's road closures list, last modified October 29, now gives the end of the Ridge Road closure as late December 2026. A City update to Council dated October 23 says the work is expected to be substantially completed in late December, weather permitting, with overall completion tentatively anticipated for December 18. The City's October 23 announcement still gives December 18.

City Hall after the election

The new council's term of office begins November 15, according to the City. On October 25 the City's eSCRIBE calendar showed a Council meeting in Council Chambers on Wednesday, November 18, with its time and location marked to be determined, and no agenda yet. It showed a Heritage Permit Review Sub-Committee meeting on November 17 and a Hamilton Municipal Heritage Committee meeting on November 27 at noon. After the October 29 Committee of Adjustment, the next of the standing committees on the calendar was the Public Works Committee on November 30, followed by Planning Committee on December 1 and the General Issues Committee on December 2.
